the some-what homemade green tea ice-cream.

Methods to making your own green tea ice-cream. Taste just as good & half the price! :D

First, you need to get this packet of Green Tea ice-cream from your local asian grocer.

It helps if there is English instructions unless you can read Japanese. See side sticker with English instructions for a much easier ice-cream making section.

Next, remove egg yolk from egg white. Mix egg white ...* i mean egg yolk* with milk and then with the green tea mixture.

Then pour into cute cups/bowls. The ones used here were meant for souffle (that ended in a disaster but thats another story all together).

Then place them in the freezer for approximately 3 hours and TADAAA!!!! Green tea ice-cream. YUMMY!!! *slurrrrppp* Easy peasy lemon squeezy. And no, my hair didn't grow & its not extensions ... its Eileen making the ice-cream this time. I just sat there and click-click-click the camera.

Oh!!! And guess what we found at the asian grocer ???

Its animal shaped noodles!!!! This packet has pig and what i think is a cat. Other packets have dogs, pandas, etc etc. So cute can die! Stoopid thing cost like $5 and has only 4 small sachets. At least it has how much calories each sachets has. The cat has like 109 cals while the pig has more -110. You know why ?!? Coz its a pig!!!! So much more fats. *laughs at own joke* I know ... lame but whatever lah.

Which reminds me, i dont think you can eat these Krys. Allergic to cats rite ???? LOL. Anyways,I'll let you know how it tastes like once i try it ... too full from dinner & random popcorn snacking.

i've tried that green tea satchet thing before! There's another way to making awesome green tea ice cream (much better than the satchet one i think). Buy good vanilla ice cream and a can of green tea powder (they sell it in the russell st grocer - its like a small green can and costs like $5). Let the ice cream soften, Mix the green tea powder (however many tablespoons to however strong u want) with warm water. then quickly stir it into the softened ice cream - freeze back again.
u have to mix it in REALLY quickly otherwise u get these green tea chips :p
and don't melt the ice cream completely otherwise u get ice crystals when it refreezes.
but this way- u get greentea ice cream as awesome as the jap restaurant ones!!

wen: okie dokes!!! im gonna try it right after the exams. :P are u ever gonna make cheesecakes and can i please have some ??? i think u still make the best desserts.

revel in me: LOL ... anytime ur in parkville :P. High tea ? I heard that Windsor Hotel has really good high tea but i have yet to try. Its apparently very English with tea & tiers of sandwiches & biscuits & all that.

Tea time at Sofitel is really nice as well plus u get to see the city from like 35 floors up or something like that. Went with my mum 2 years ago though.

BUT if ur wanting a not so typical high tea but a nice tea time snack - try Westin's Martini Bar. Alcohol + fresh oysters + little snacks = super yummy!!!
