The three of us woke up bright & early for the Myer's Christmas Parade -> three because PF still has exams (awww... the poor thing) & my brother couldn't have been bothered, that & im thinking he might have still have been hung over or something. Anyways we arrived around 10.30-ish hoping to get a good spot but the whole street was practically filled with kids with balloons and flags. So we decided to get some as well and head upwards to Russell St.
The two who really really wanted to go for the parade.
The one who tagged along and yeah, i made him pose with the balloon and flag :)
So the parade started off with some lady wearing tinsel and who apparently is on Dancin' with the Stars, I don't really know who she is but she seems happy. She's also the Grand Marshal for the parade and outbid people like Christine Nixon, the police head or something like that -> just a bit of extra information and just to show i was paying attention to the commentator. :P
She was followed by what apparently is the Myer's Christmas Angels. Honestly, they look more like Transformers robots gone wrong.
This parade also educated me on how the police are not limited to catching bad people and doing all that police stuff ... they can play instruments and be part of the parade too!
One of the coolest floats probably has to be the Myer Toys Factory Float. The front bit looks a little scary though.
I think the kids on this Toy Factory are supposed to be elves. They were so into the whole dancing thing that it was sooooo cute!
This was quite the random. I dont really know how Bollywood/belly dancing fits into the Christmas Parade but o well, it does add colour.
Omg, i got so excited when i saw this
Freaking Care Bears! I didn't know kids these days still played with them. CARE BEAR SHINE! But then i was quite the tulan when the stupif Pink Bear only waved and posed the other side, leaving me with a picture of its bum.
Followed by tap dancers who looked like those girls on Deal or No Deal. -_-"
And some monkeys who apparently is part of some sleep wear brand or something.
The biker gang took part as well. Its kinda weird seeing old bearded pot-belly man riding their monster bikes with decorated tinsel. And no, i dont know who the guy is with the cup - must be some sport star who won something.
At this point, i turn around to check up on the bf. Eileen and i were too busy snapping pictures to layan him. He sure looks entertained. LOL
But its ok because Noddy soon came to bring Christmas cheer. I don't know if you remember Noddy but the cartoon was seriously old-skool and all he ever did was nodded -hence the name.
Then, the most surprising float came next. Never would i have expected Yarra Trams to take part in the parade. Now we all know where the tram fines have gone :P
And yes, thats a tram inspector ... Can i see your ticket please ?!? :P
This was followed by the Mayor John So.

Yeah, i realised i took quite a bad shot of her but OMG she's so pretty in real life. Picture does her no justice.
One thing that was annoying throughout the whole parade was the flies. They kept buzzing around and woudn't leave anyone alone.Plus they ruined what could have possibly been good pictures. And if you needed proof :
Stupid fly ruined the picture by positioning itself on Vince.es lips :P

Haha I love your Myer parade commentry plus pics!! I've seen that purple mini cooper car before! It was parked on southbank infront of Nobu and I think if you look closely it says Nobu-something. So i reckon it belongs to Nobu Matsuhisa. Coolness - love the jap pics and deco :p
The christmas tree,turkey and present band is so cute... except that the turkey looks like a giant turd :(
Damn i missed the care bears this year :( I went to last years one which was really cool - they had barbie float! John So got to sit next to Jen Hawkins last year. He must be so sad this year :p And yes she is gorgeous in real life although i would prefer less tan on her :p
ooh and the monkeys are called "Funky Monkey". I only know this because aiyee bought jonathan a lunch box with a huge Funky Monkey on the front and all the kids in his class were excited cause they had the same lunchbox! :D
