kitchen diaries

So the other night, we attempted to make nasi lemak. :D In addition to that we made sambal, redang (which didn't really look like rendang but taste slightly like it) and the usual boiled egg and cucumber.

The plate is super big making the rice in the middle extra huge and the side dishes that i added to my own plate seem very small. The sambal was the best!!! Plus it was super easy to make - onion, ikan billis and the cheating method of pre-packed sambal tumis. YUM YUM YUM!

And as if we weren't fully enough into our whole week of internation food, we made japanese green tea ice-cream for dessert. I know ... Malaysian dinner but Japanese dessert ... its the collaboration of identities.

Home-made green tea ice-cream! I got so excited into eating that i forgot to take a proper picture. So here is my half eaten ice-cream just to show you how yummy it was. :)

On another note i found my japanese sponge cake that i was trying to make but failed badly the other day at the asian grocer. Its actually quite nice so i think i'll stick to buying that then attempting to make another flat sponge cake. Also got a recipe from Brina for the fluffy cheesecake that i have yet to try - exams exams exams!!!! Can you tell that im totally putting on weight from all these foods ?!?!??!?!?!

LOL! It took hours ... hours of waiting. :P All you need is green tea ice cream packet mix from your friendly asian grocer and add milk & egg yolk. Oh and put it in a nice bowl to make it look super professional!
