Nissin Girl
Don't laugh. Seriously, don't. Just got a job as a "Brand Promoter" (ceh, sounds so hi tech) for this company called Oriental Merchant. Wanna know what im gonna be promoting? NISSIN NOODLES! YUM! Yup, its those noodles that u pay tons for at Kim Gary back in K.L.
The good thing is that its a one-off (sounds like promoting a club for a one off or something!) and its on the 13th of May at some footie match. So if you wanna see me dressed in a blue kimono robe, make your way to that footie stadium, not sure on the specifics yet.
Other Melbournites are club promoters. Me? Im a Noodle Promoter! HAHAHAHAHA. Nissin girl to the rescue! :P

Instead of studying...
Instead of studying i started surfing the net for clothes. Mainly went to Celebrity Style Guide and did lots of googling for the Azzaro dress worn by Nicole Richie that i cant seem to find - i think its a one off or something :(
Anyways somehow or another i ended up looking at the 2006 Ready To Wear Autumn clothes. The only line i got to see was the Chanel - mainly due to the temperamental internet & the fact that i got lazy waiting for the pics to fully load. My favourite has to be this piece :

Credit goes to Marcio for vogue.com for the photo
This is suppose to be a RTW for Chanel. The thing is i cant really imagine anyone wearing this on a daily basis tho. Looks nice tho esp the extra high boots !
So much for having Anzac day to study (Anzac day is a public holiday in Australia to commemorate the soldiers who fought in the wars).
Time to find something else to do. :P

You know you have reached a milestone when...
You know you have reached another milestone when you start to share dieting tips with your parents. Yes, you read that right. I dont know if my parents are going through mid life crisis or they are just plain lazy to cook since its just the two of them. Anyways here is what they consume:
Breakfast : 1 slice of bread and coffee
Lunch : rice and meat n vegetables
Dinner : 2 slices of bread and 3 oranges (occasionally might be salad if they have fresh veggies)
Now i dont know bout you but i would die if i had only to consume those things. Also note the lack of morning tea & afternoon tea snacks! ACK!

Philip Island & Movie Marathon Post
Im just too lazy to post about the Philip Island & Movie Marathon post. So instead of me rambling nonsense just to fill the post up, read up on it from Anthea since she already blogged about it & was there with me! :P

Big Brother 2006

Big Brother is BACK! Do i predict endless hours spent watching people being stuck in a house? Do i sense the lack of social interaction & irritation if interrupted while watching BB06? MOST DEF!
Ever since coming to Australia, have been a quite a fan of BB. Hey, what can i say? Its like The O.C. but with a tinge of reality. This year is even more interesting with a mother & daughter as housemates. I dont know bout u bt it would be disturbing to have ur mother/daughter while ur in the BB house. I mean, things do happen & it aint pretty.
Head to the Big Brother site for more details! Enjoy!

The Shrapnel Wedding
*Long post ahead*
Went to a wedding on Saturday - my very first White wedding. Mostly due to the fact that my cousins half auzzie & his bride to be is fully auzzie. Been to 3 chinese weddings in my life & let me just say that a White wedding is so different compared to chinese weddings.
It was a church wedding at Ashburton (its somewhere in the suburbs, my other cousin did the driving so i just stonned till we got there). It was a nice ceremony with no frills. There was sandwhiches & cakes after the ceremony - there was this chocolate cookie thing with a thick layer of chocolate which was sooooo good! Then there was photo taking of the bridal party & everyone at the wedding. Since my cousin is like half chinese, there was even a tea ceremony at the church in one of the small rooms. It was so cute seeing the couple serving tea to my grandma, not really knowing what to do. The good thing (well not entirely) was that i got an angpow from the couple - chinese tradition of introducing the other half & thus the younger kids get angpows! Heck, we seem to get angpows for everything - another reason y i dont wanna grow old!
My cousins and i hung around the church coz it would be stupid to drive back to the city only to drive to the dinner venue. We took random shots - who knew camwhoring was a family trait ?!? Pictures are all still with my cousins but just let me say that observing them its not hard to see that we're all related. So after an hour of taking random pics, singing to the piano & talking crap, we realised there was a pool table in the next room! We were literally kicking ourselves for being typical asians n not venturing to see what was beyong our comfort zone. Anyways we did play for a bit before heading to the country club for the dinner!
Got there earlier than expected even tho we got kinda lost for about 10 minutes - Blame it on HIGH STREET & HIGH STREET ROAD! Why call a street a road if its already a road? Must be some auzzie thing i suppose.
So anyways we got there early and it was just a few relatives around. Thus it was decided to go out wandering in the golf course n take random photos!
I only have a few, well actually make that 3 from the golf course, taken from my trusty phone (YAY CAMERA PHONE!)

Yes, we are crawling out of a sand bunk. This scene reminds me slightly of 'The Hills have Eyes'

My two older driving cousins and i - decent shot

The others got jealous & thus this squashed up photo of us all together
We headed back to the main hall just in time for pre-drinks. The weird thing was that the room reminded me of Trinity - it had green carpets & wooden planks of achievements by members. Photo of the said to be put up once i get them from my cousin.
The dinner itself was great! Three course meal plus 2 bottles of wine ( white + red) on each table. It was just 6 of us to an 8 person table - thus we had 'the cousins' table!

Mark & Min Wen

Min Yen & my brother Chris
I dont quite know what happened to the photo of me & Andrew. Tsk!
Anyways back to the wine. We had two bottles & 2 drivers at the table. Thus, i made it my responsibility to not waste Jason's & Leanne's money & consume the wine. Happy happy joy joy! I practically had a bottle and a half to myself. Both driving cousins were giving me the evil eye - the wonders of not having to drive :)
The speaches made were really good & witty - something that i never had experienced. OH! And you know how in chinese wedding dinners esp in Msia where it never starts on time ? Well this wedding DID! Amazing u say! I think so too. The other thing was that the bridal party (the couple, best mans & bride maids ) had a whole table to themselves. The parents sat on different tables with their own company. I guess its quite logical coz u wanna enjoy ur own wedding. Im not saying that having parents around arent fun, i guess u kinda have more fun with ur own friends around, esp on ur wedding dinner nite!
Woah! This is a pretty long post - by my standards anyways. Thats enough for now. Back to my Gilmore Girls marathon! :)

im finally connected!
After months of no connection via my laptop im finally connected to the WORLD WIDE WEB! yay! Actually it doesnt really make a difference to me ... well not totally coz im not really a techy person but the thing is that its kinda nice to be able to use your own comp as well as to use it in your own room. Using my brother's was kinda like using his underwear or something - i dont use his underwear fyi ! im just using it as a metaphore!
Easter break is like coming so YAY!!! H-O-L-I-D-A-Y!!! ... i think?!? Have so much work to do & to catch up with that i think the hols wont exactly be the hols, know what i'm saying ???? Sounds to me like this holidays will be major stressing period.
On a happy note : am attending a wedding! Not mine, but my cousins :) Don't u just love weddings? The very thought of dressing up, going to church (church weddings are quite nice to attend), taking lots of pretty photos & then eating delicious food ... :) And weddings are also the time u get in touch with ur relatives.
I dont know bout u but my relatives have three standard questions :
a. Do you have a boyfriend?
b. What happened to [insert name here] ? However most of the time the question would be this - What happened to that boy? Names dont really ring a bell to the relatives
c. I know this nice boy. Want me to introduce you to him ?
Time to lose some weight as well. U know how relatives get after they havent seen u since u were like 12 & stick skinny
p/s: Happy belated birthday to Gav & Wai C. Its not that i forgot. I just got my net connection so this is me saying happy birthday to you guys even tho its been a while :P

something for u to read
Was talking to a friend, n suddenly the topic of boobs came up. This however will forever be imprinted in my head:
u know my mum told me this story before.. that those kampung women give birth to so many children that their boobs are so saggy, then the last child while carrying them on the back, they can just flip the boobs back for the kid to suck the milk

Dr. Vivian Lei
Everyone meet Dr. Vivian Lei! Although she's not exactly a qualified doctor nor is she a med student, she has the cure for the common cold & cough : GO CLUBBING & DRINK ALCOHOL!

The reason behind this is that alcohol is like an antibiotic n will clean up your system - bad germs out, healhty body! Plus, clubbing requires movement of the body. Thus, movement will lead to sweating & isnt there a saying that u have to sweat your virus out or something ?
Anyways im currently having a mild headache & a my nose is running till it can run no more! Vivian has 2 extra free list for me for tonight at Velour. To go or not to go?
p/s: i stole this photo from friendster as well. Do you think Vivian will kill me after this ?

The gym freak
I would like to introduce everyone to THE gym freak ... MISS ANTHEA KWAN!

Seriously, this girl goes to the gym EVERY single day, & i mean every single day. I would know this as shes my housemate. Guess how i feel whenever i ask her where shes going? Its always "I'm going to the gym later!"
All i can say is -_- ... man, that just aint right!
p/s: i stole that picture of Anthea from her friendster. Isnt scary that someone can just rip ur photo off friendster? Heaven knows what they could do with it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL! :p
Melissa Lim Pui Hoon has finally hit the big 2-0! YAY! :)

She can finally join the elite TWENTEEN club :P
Mel, i know ur on the low tech & you prob wont read this (i don't think being in Scotland has anything to do with this - must be the alcohol) but just wanted EVERYONE to know that its YOUR birthday & may your birthday be filled with lots of "fun-filled activites"... whatever that term means to you :P
Why is Mel THE best person i know born in March? Well, besides her super duper cool house which has endless chinese tea, she is pretty entertaining with being blur. Some might say shes being innocent, i say she's just acting innocent. Mel KNOWS things ppl. Thats y shes able to ask THE most random & mind boggling questions -the content of which has to be rated M, ONLY FOR MATURE AUDIENCES :)
Anyways Mel just wanted to wish u a blessed Birthday! Dont drink too much ... just enough to be able to make it home & puke your guts out in the privacy of your own toilet !

Short & black.... AGAIN!
After another stressful lecture in which i realised i knew nothing about proteins & enzymes i decided to go do something with my hair... yes, unlike normal people who watch tv or even sleep just to relax, i decided to cut my hair.
So now, instead of this :

My hair looks something like this :

It has been a really long time since my hair was black... like a REALLY LONG TIME! So imagine what was going thru my head when i saw this :

So black! So new! So exciting! That & what the hell am i doing? Why cant i just wait till my hair turns black again instead of wasting money to colour it black? Well, to be honest i caught myself in the mirror on the way to uni today n realised i looked so sickly with the brown - or isit dirty brown? Im not sure, bt the point is that i dont think it looked so good anymroe as i could see the black roots .. YUCK! I was also thinkin of the fact that i wont be going back to kl during winter break & therefore would need MORE money to constantly dye my hair brown every 3 months. Therefore it would have been a smarter choice to just dye it black... RITE? Anyways i've never tried those DIY dyes & am too chicken to try it just in case it comes out wrong - even tho i dont think u can go wrong with BLACK... bt there is always the possibility of it !
So now, i have short black hair. YAY me! I think i take very bad pictures of myself & will therefore redeem myself when i get more pics of me taken by other ppl. At the mo im like this :

just coz i got a new hair colour & length!
Whaddaya think?

A fresh start.
It has just dawned on me that its WEEK 4 of uni & its time to actually start studying - Mid sems are like in.... 2 weeks time? sigh! Time sure does past by fast. So anyways this week, hopefully, will be a fresh start. No more skipping lectures, studying everyday & stop procrastinating. Is it even possible? It just might be seeing as i currently have zero information bout what im actually doing in uni.
For starters i actually got up at freakin 8 am just so i could read & do my prelab questions - WHY did i choose to have prac classes on mondays? Was so into the mood of going back to uni that i actually thought i would be in the mood for prac class on monday. Can you say STUPID?
Must try also to cook without using instant stuffs. After grocery shopping for the past 3 weeks, i have noticed the main contents in the shopping cart - canned items like spam (luncheon meat), baked beans, soup, tuna & mushroom, frozen food like fish, vegetables (yes, i bought frozen veg just coz it lasts longer, not that i eat it anyways), chicken fingers & a MUST in every fridge: FOUR & TWENTY MEAT PIES! seriously, its the BEST THING known to mankind. I have no idea how i have managed to live without these pies. Just pop it in the microwave for 5 mins, add a some ketchup & your ready to indulge!

I think i'm getting OLD
You know your getting old when :
1. The guys that hit on you in clubs seem like teeny babies compared to you
2. You meet new people in clubs who are underage & your NOT!
3. You meet your younger siblings friends and you realise HEY! I COULD ACTUALLY BE DIRTY DANCING WITH MY BROTHER - can you say eWwWwWwWwW!
Sigh, its a myth that Lavish is the only place for ppl in their 20s. Maybe i'll just go back to amber & club with all these underaged ppl OR maybe i shud just stop all together & focus on studying! NAH! i think i just look young! (yes, im comforting myself there)

Joke of the day
*Names have been changed to protect the privacy of the individuals*
P was asked to call J, C's sister as a couple of them wanted to hold a surprise bday thing.
P: Hello, can i speak to J please?
C: Shes in the toilet.
P thinking that C was J's boyfriend, he confidently went on : Oh, this is P, C's friend. Can u not tell C that i called ?
C: ?!?....?!?
So much for that, i guess u actually have to hear the whole story from P to actually find it funny coz i couldnt stop laughin when i heard it.
On another note : i think Jay (Shuen's bf) is damn sweet! He calls her at 9 am her time (thats 4 am his time) so she will wake up & go for class. Sweet or not?
O n can someone explain to me how me saying theres still the closing ceremony to attend is funny? Apparently Shuen laughs at whatever comment i leave on her blog. I think its the Sydney air- its gettin to her brains :)
